33 Minutes of Stretching

Comments: Found out that today was my last day at my work assignment, I had thought I had another month there. So that was a bit unexpected. Luckily I did receive a new assignment but it did bum me out a bit. Then I found the entry form for the next Battle at the Barn and it granted me a brief reprieve from my pity party. Didn't walk today. Box squats were good, hips a bit tender as were knees. Yoke felt good until the last set. I was pissed off to only get 22'6" with 910lbs when I've gone farther in a competition on a really lousy day. However, I need to focus on the positives. For starters, when I did that at a contest, it was after a deload week, and I wasn't pre-fatigued by much (just picks and I bombed the first two events). I need to keep records of just using my yoke and base my numbers off of that. I find my yoke is very unforgiving. For instance, 770lbs is the most I've done where I haven't dropped it due to the flexing. It was 740lbs until today. The point is, I have to keep that in mind and train this like I do with my farmer's walk implements. My implements are usually going to be tougher than the ones I use in a contest so it shouldn't get me that pissed off. But I wasn't thinking about this at the time and I was considering packing it in for the day. Picking up 910lbs on my yoke hurt. I begrudgingly got farmer's walk stuff setup and did my sets. Same with dimels and then did stretching.
