Walking – 31 minutes

Comments: Went walking after work today. Glutes and the front of my thighs are quite sore from yesterday. Took my stone out of the mold. Good thing this was a practice stone I guess. Not enough water for the start of the mold I guess. I'm told it's salvageable but will need some work.

  1. Hey Craig, I'm not sure if anyone's told you this, but I've heard that while you can take a stone out of the mold after just a few days, you ought to wait until 3-4 weeks after the original mixing date just to make sure it sets all the way through before using it. I'm not sure where I read that, but it might be worth double checking!

For the next stone you cast, just keep track of the amount of water you add to it, then remember 1 gallon of water = 8 pounds of weight. Then if you know how much concrete mix you used, you should be able to get a good estimate of the stone's weight.

  2. Yeah, I was going to wait a few weeks to weigh it and at least a month before using it. I know how much water I used so I do have a rough estimate. Just need to find out what it actually weighs.
