33 Minutes of Stretching

Comments: Some things good, some things kind of meh. My legs were just not helping me today. Could be from the increased amount of walking but more likely from heavy squats. Felt just like that one time I did these but with greater band tension and couldn't even get a 3lbs PR. I felt awkward even unracking the weights and setting up to lift. I missed 205lbs the first try so I knew I was not going to be at my best. 260lbs was my best lift and 275lbs was like a repeat of last time I tried these (but 260lbs was the difficult lift) I called it after those two really tough multi-attempts. Weight felt light on down set but my legs were not helping. I tried to split jerk a fourth but my feet were slow and stupid and I pushed the bar forward so I called that set there. While it was a PR for me, I know I should be good for more as I've done 250lbs with nearly double the band tension. Frustrating and exhausting. Originally my plan was going to be axle cleans starting at 145lbs and work up to 265lbs (slick axle) but said screw it and started at 160lbs. All the sets felt easy. 250lbs was a tad off in that I was half thinking about power cleaning it and half just working the continental. Forgot I was doing continentals for a moment on the last rep with 250lbs actually. Felt like I could have power cleaned (whatever it is I do) it. The big test was going to be 280lbs. No problems, absolutely molested it. Really like using the APT wrist wraps for these as I can get my elbows under it quicker and no wrist pain. Rows were tough, rear delts not so much. Quite a bit of stretching. Realized I had fewer training sessions left for my upcoming contests so I may need to adjust what lifts I'll be doing between now and then.
