Injury

Last night I ruptured a hamstring tendon in my left leg. I will start rehab in 2 weeks. My follow up appointment is in 4 weeks. No free weights for 8 to 12 weeks and no competing for 16 to 20 weeks. Balls. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't afraid. This is the first time I've had a major injury. This going to be my biggest test yet.

  1. couple of years ago I had 2 discs in my lower back crap out on me. it sucks. just remember to keep thinking long term as far as training goes. people do get injured and come back. just follow the rehab, find what work you can do around the injury, and stay positive. that's the key, stay positive.

  2. Yo brother! Keep me updated with the rehab. Keep at it man, I've pulled my hamstring a few times. Keep it positive just like barbe says. Let me know if I can help in any way.

  3. Hey Craig,
Sorry to hear about your injury. My name is Marty Mitchell. I am friends with Barb Brant, who knows you from workouts at the West Shore Y. I am in town visiting with Barb, and was hoping to meet you.
I build the Westside Barbell line of equipment for Louie, and he and I are very good friends. Some of my training implements include bands, chains, sandbags, D-balls up to 200 lbs., along with racks, platforms, benches and all the heavy equipment.
I visit Louie at least once a month. Barb and I are curious to see if you would like to meet us at Westside sometime, now it may be after your recovery. We would have an entire day with him. Preferably on a Friday, for early morning workout, then just hang out with him the remainder of the day. My email is mitchell.athletics@gmail.com . Please let me know if you would be interested. Best of luck, but at your youthful age, we're sure you will come back stronger than ever.
    Marty Mitchell
